While Sonny changed our flat tire on the way home from Berea, KY, Gabriel took advantage of the extra long break and climbed on the huge tires he discovered.

Gabriel played so hard while waiting on his dad that he worked up quite a thirst!  They not only grew huge tires in this town, but they also had HUGE bottles of soda!

While visiting his grandparents, Gabriel enjoyed being outside in the sandbox, in the tree house, and especially on the swing.  By the way, he's singing while he's swinging!  Just had to say it!

  Hiding God's Word

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote a blog called "Imagine If..." In it, I asked the question, "What would you do if you knew without a doubt that all of our Bibles would be taken away within the next year?" The following is a short summary of what I suggested plus the responses I received from others on this topic. Hope you not only enjoy these comments, but are inspired to cherish the Word of God as if these were your last days to own a personal copy.

Cindy's Summary: Memorize and study the Bible as if our lives depend upon it. Place an urgency on the need to learn God's Word and what we need to know to pass it onto our children/grandchildren so they will know the basics of Christianity and be able to pass it on.

Have different people learn different parts of the Bible in order to preserve it. They, of course, would have to pass it on to someone else in order for that part of the Bible to be preserved.

Continue teaching our children, grandchildren, and other children the Bible in order to pass God's Word onto the next generation. If we stop teaching it, no one will hear. If no one hears, then no one will pass it on.

Write it down - in a daily journal, in a letter (as if writing to someone else), in scrapbooks, photo albums, or photo boxes.

Susan's Comment:

"...I would try to disguise my Bibles to look like other books even if I had to separate it in to individual books and hide them in other novels. I would also add the verses and maybe even the pages to other books or decoupage them onto different items so I can preserve the words of my Lord. I guess I would become a criminal just like the Law of the biblical times thought our prophets, and the apostles, even our Lord - all were considered criminals."

Sonny's Comment:

"Make up some funny pictures to help children and adults remember major verses or chapter topics."

Terri's Comment:

"I love to memorize through song, since music is a worship language I speak fluently. You can usually hear the word of the Lord on my home stereo at anytime of the day."

Tim's Comment:

"I recently started keeping a journal & I think I'm going to add a verse to each entry from now on. In this journal, instead of just writing random thoughts & feelings to myself, I actually write letters to my future wife!...I love the idea of hiding the word of God in our hearts (Ps 119:11) & I think doing this with my future wife will be especially uplifting."

I loved each of these comments. They showed each individual's personality and conviction. I believe that everyone has something to offer and, if allowed, God will use each person in a unique way. All we need to do is make a commitment to hide God's Word in our hearts and ask Him to help us with this awesome responsibility.
